🇸🇪 The Saab 37 Viggen is a multirole combat aircraft developed by Saab in the late 1960s. Powered by a Volvo RM8 afterburning turbofan, derived from the Pratt & Whitney JT8D, it was designed for interception, ground attack, and reconnaissance missions. Featuring a distinctive delta wing with canard foreplanes, the Viggen offers excellent short takeoff and landing (STOL) performance, enabling operations from dispersed road bases in accordance with Swedish Cold War defense doctrine.
