🇺🇸 The North American Rockwell OV-10A Bronco is a twin-turboprop, twin-boom light attack and observation aircraft developed by North American Rockwell in the 1960s for a joint U.S. Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps program. Designed for forward air control (FAC), reconnaissance, counter-insurgency (COIN), and close air support, the Bronco could operate from short, unprepared airstrips while carrying troops, cargo, or medical evacuees.
The OV-10A Bronco gained recognition for its extensive service during the Vietnam War, where it directed air strikes and supported ground forces. Beyond military operations, retired Broncos continue to serve with organizations such as CAL FIRE, coordinating aerial firefighting missions, and have also been operated by NASA for research and experimental flight testing.
